Hon. Justice Mabel Segun-Bello
An Accomplished judicial officer, she exhibits exceptional expertise and integrity in her role as a judicial officer both as a Chief Magistrate and as a Federal Judge. Until her appointment as a Judge, Hon. Justice Mabel was a Chief Magistrate and later appointed the Director of Commissioner for Oath department in the High Court of FCT. Under her leadership, the department witnessed a major lift in its affidavit section, when it completely transitioned from manual process to digital format.
During her tenure as the Director for Oaths at the FCT High Court Abuja, Justice Mabel Segun-Bello Pioneered and introduced the first-ever Digital Affidavit Registry Management System (ARMS) in the Nigerian judiciary. This groundbreaking achievement streamlined the affidavit filing process, enhancing efficiency and accessibility for litigants and legal professionals alike.
She has held positions in professional associations, such as the Magistrates Association of Nigeria (MAN) Abuja Chapter, International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Ibadan Chapter and was an active Member of the NBA Nigerian Bar Association Oyo state.
She was a Banker and had a brief stay in the banking sector where she worked as a Credit Administration Officer. Beyond her judicial duties, HJM is an author, captivating conference speaker, and dedicated trainer. Her exceptional leadership and impact have been recognized through numerous accolades and awards. With a career spanning almost 20 years in the the Judiciary, she has presided over numerous complex criminal and civil cases, demonstrating her unwavering dedication to upholding justice and human rights.
